　　河口海岸科学研究院与河口海岸学国家重点实验室，主要从事河口海岸的应用基础研究，研究方向为：河口演变规律与河口沉积动力学；海岸动力地貌与动力沉积过程；河口海岸生态与环境。通过多学科交叉渗透和综合分析，深入研究各种时空尺度的河口海岸动力沉积和动力地貌过程及人类活动对自然环境与过程的影响，揭示河口海岸各地区自然要素和界面的相互作用与变化规律，发展河口海岸学科理论体系，同时为港口航道等工程建设、沿海资源开放、生态环境保护、规划管理服务。

The Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Research, and the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC), is devoted to undertake the applied basic research on estuaries and coast. The orientations of study are: estuarine evolution and sediment dynamics, coastal dynamic geomorphology and the dynamic sedimentary process, and estuarine and coastal ecology and environment. Through a comprehensive analysis of the overlapping and penetration among different disciplines, the institute aims at conducting an in-depth study of the various processes of estuarine and coastal dynamic sedimentation and dynamic geomorphology in various places and at different times as well as human impacts on natural environment and processes, revealing the interaction between different physical factors and interfaces in different areas of estuaries and coast and the law governing the changes, developing a theoretical system for the discipline of estuary and coastal research, and meanwhile, providing service for the construction of harbor and navigation channels, coastal resources development, ecological environment protection and coastal zone planning and management.
